I am not entirely sure why, but I truly enjoy watching The love boat. I guess you could credit most of the joy to the fact that the show is based out of cruises. But it is much more than that. Sure it is dated, and sure it is corny. But in a way the age of the show brings you back to “The good old days” that many remember with much passion. Then again, what I know of the good old days, since the first episode aired before I was born and by the last episode I was only 4 years old. But nonetheless, it brings lots of smiles from me when watching it.
I started watching the show a few years ago, shortly after I started cruising. I purchased the first two seasons online and the DVD’s got delivered to my home. I devoured those episodes in a mater of weeks, and soon I found myself looking for more episodes. The odd thing is that I could not find the rest of the seasons anywhere. I guess I was not looking hard enough, because recently I found nearly 90% of the episodes on YouTube! Who would have guessed, right?
So as you can imagine I have been trying to catch up with all the other episodes. This of course, while continuing my normal busy schedule :D. I have to say that my favorite episodes are the ones that do different itineraries. Such as, Alaska, Panama Canal, and the longer voyages. I am not yet into the Asia and Africa episodes, but one thing is for sure, I can’t wait to see them. I just wish that the quality was a little better, but one has to do with what’s available to us. Who knows, maybe they will release them on DVD soon.
I guess for now this is the closest that I will get to a cruise. This year I think that I will only be able to log one cruise, and I have to get my fix one way or another.
For those interested, here is the first episode, Enjoy 🙂
