Royal Caribbean International performed the Keel Laying ceremony for Ovation of the Seas, which officially starts construction of the ship. Adam Goldstein, president and COO of Royal Caribbean placed a lucky penny before the first 740 ton block was laid down.
Ovation of the Seas will be the third Quantum class ship, and it is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2016. The ship will be 168,600 GT and carry up to 4,900 passengers. The itineraries and home have yet to be announced.
