2 people found dead in a parent murder-suicide aboard ms Ryndam in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Officials stated that the couple from Cleveland, Ohio were in the their 50s.
Sargent Ricardo Cruz stated “We don’t know yet whether an object was used or what the motive was.” Now the FBI has taken over the investigation, with hopes to unveil how the couple died.
He also stated the ship’s crew found the bodies when they did a routine check after not hearing from them in a while.
It is unclear how and when the couple died. The ship departed from Tampa, Florida for a two week cruise around the southern Caribbean.
Holland America released a statement saying, “We are terribly saddened by this tragic event”.
A cruise ship passenger, Mark Moore, from Watertown, New York said, “This is a shock to me”. He said the crew had roped off part of the ship and hung a sheet in the hallway as passengers disembarked around noon.
